A rather disappointing exhibition at the RAF Museum at Hendon on the history of Airfix construction kits.. a few kits and some lovely artwork however so evocative I was again the 12 year boy exploring Woolworth's store in Clapham Junction to see how I could spend my 50p pocket money..
A less common hobby today of course, but in 30 years we will be celebrating the cultural impact of minecraft I'm sure.. Â

Looks like my loft
I used to hang them from my bedroom roof with cotton and drawing pins.
My bedroom sky was full of them
My room was covered with those when I was a kid.
We used to stuff ours(JU88s and JU 52s) full of cotton wool soak with paraffin attach to a piece of cotton thread to undercarriage, light and fly…always shot down by Spitfires or Hurricanes of course!
