Google only requires a licence to use a Maps API site for promoting the service, and to include any data that&#039;s available in their search indexes. You can opt out of the latter by requesting that your pages/data aren&#039;t indexed.

But the real issue, for UK users, is whether OS are happy now. Last time I heard from them, a couple of days ago, display OS-derived data on Google Maps was a definite no-no, and they wouldn&#039;t say whether tracings from Google&#039;s TeleAtlas data was OS-derived data or not. Potentially, using Google Maps to define UK routes and points and display them online might still be against OS&#039;s Crown Copyright...</description>
